Sacramento Bee columnist dropped on his head as a baby

Sacramento Bee columnist Marco Breton is an idiot: in his latest column, he states that Sacramento King forward Ron Artest had to be traded, but the Boston Red Sox are idiots for trading Manny Ramirez. I’m not going to comment on Breton’s argument about Artest, but he is off his rocker about Ramirez.

Referring to Ramirez, Breton had this to say:

All Ramírez said was that the Red Sox – who have paid him a fortune – “don’t deserve” him. And he dogged it in a few games.

That is not all Ramirez said and did. He has also been insubordinate on multiple occasions, assaulted team employee(s) and apparently dogged it in critical situations, such as when he struck out looking on three pitches against Yankees closer Mariano Rivera. Any other person doing these types of things would be fired immediately.

  1. Here’s another story:,0,6019948.story

Time will tell if it’s a good trade. But people are excited about him.

  2. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens to the Sox without Manny. His misbehavior drew in curious fans that bought stadium seats, as did the game-play. of course, but more importantly, his skills as a player will surely be a loss. This guy is destined for the Hall of Fame, but the problems with Manny were tolerated too many times and he knew he could ultimately get away with it.

  3. I think the Sox will be fine. They did get Jason Bay who is obviously not as good a hitter, but a better defensive player, and who won’t cause the turmoil that Manny did.
