Do radio stations pay attention to the commercials they play?

I heard a radio commercial this morning that made me laugh. It was an commercial for ESPN radio, basically stating that since the San Antonio Spurs were trailing their playoff series 2 games to 0, would they be able to come back?

The obvious problem is that they were down 2-0 on May 23, and the playoff series is long over.

Who decided to play that commercial today?
