As I mentioned in a previous post, due to the failure of the state Legislature to pass a budget, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was planning on signing an executive order reducing the wages of almost all state employees to the Federal minimum wage rate of $6.55 per hour. Well, he did it today (registration may [...]

Wow! Both Manny Ramirez and Ken Griffey Jr. were traded today. Ramirez has hit 510 home runs in his career, and Griffey has hit 608. I am assuming that this is the first time in history that 2 players with over 500 home runs have been traded on the same day.
The Red Sox had absolutely [...]

Allison in her “Just My Day” blog expresses what should be [...]

A Sunday school teacher was giving her class the assignment
for the next week.
“Next Sunday,” she said, “we are going to talk about liars,
and in preparation for our lesson I want you all to read the
Seventeenth Chapter of Mark.”
The following week, at the beginning of the class meeting,
the teacher said, “Now then, all of you who [...]

I am somewhat annoyed when people decide NOT to leave a message on my voicemail AFTER the entire message has played, ensuring that I have a voicemail where the only audible sound is that person hanging up. This wastes a good 15 seconds of my life If you are not going to leave me a message, [...]

Yes, you read that correctly. I am blogging about idiotic answers to a math question instead of idiotic math questions.
This person wants to know how to solve (x+6)(2x-1) = 0. From algebra, if xy =0, then x=0 or y=0. We can see that for this problem, either x+6 = 0 or 2x -1 =0, yielding [...]

Someone is asking how to solve 6x -2 = 7. As this person has asked 6 similar questions in the last 3 days, this person clearly hasn’t made much of an effort to understand the material.

AARGH! This is from LiveScience.com…
The human male releases about 66 million sperm during each … encounter. … since it takes only one sperm to make a baby, there are 59,999,999 extras along for the ride.
Did the writer and editor of this article never learn the concept of “significant figures” in school? Since 66 million is [...]
