According to this article, the Fresno police department is setting all sorts of speed traps.
“Kelly Caglia, a pilot for American Airlines, said he sees speed traps all over Fresno, with police in obstructed locations along Shepherd Avenue, Champlain Drive and Millbrook Avenue, among others.
“They say it’s for safety — baloney,” Caglia said. “It’s revenue enhancement.” “
Having lived in Fresno from 1999-2007, Caglia is full of it. While it will definitely enhance revenue, many Fresno drivers drive like maniacs, frequently driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone and weaving in and out of traffic.
(EDIT: Added “many” — there are many Fresno drivers who don’t do these things.)
